Employees of a firm that provides workers to Kentucky hospitals have filed a lawsuit claiming they were paid less than they earned.

Lori Wagner and other employees of Knoxville, Tenn.-based Team HealthHoldings filed the class-action lawsuit in Fayette Circuit Court, the  Lexington Herald-Leader reported. The workers allege fraud and breach of contract.

The plaintiffs worked for Mesa Medical Group, which was acquired by Team Health Holdings. Mesa is accused of making the workers pay the employer’s share of Federal Insurance Contributions Act, or FICA, taxes.

The employees say more than $2.8 million should have gone to 254 employees over a three-year period.

A Team Health spokesman would not comment.
